You would think that the hill would be busy on new years day, well this wasn't the case this year. Everyone must have been nursing a hangover or possibly still celebrating. It felt like we had the hill to ourselves, the longest wait for a lift was maybe 3 minutes and even at the very small Crystal lodge serving home made waffles with all the fixings including whipped cream and chocolate chips we were able to find a table. I was cold but the 10 AM break for waffles and coffee made it all worth it. One of the best ski days, sun shinning and snow conditions were perfect, could have been a little more pow, but when is there ever enough of the white fluffy stuff. A day like this followed by dinner drinks doesn't get much better, unless you follow it up with a good day cross country skiing at the Olympic Park/Callaghan Valley as we did.
