Week 4, I was feeling pretty good, running well and my legs were feeling strong. This being a rest week with a 90 min run and 2 hr run back to back, looking at my schedule things were going to get interesting as my training was starting to ramp up.
Week 5, 6, 7 and 8 calls for a 4 hr run and a 3 hr run back to back, plus all the usual weekday track workouts and regular speed work. My first long run didn't go as planed. Everything was going well for the first 3 hrs, it was a beautiful day and the trails were perfect, minus the small amount of snow on them, which doesn't seem to bother me. On my way back I was starting to climb one of the long hills in the Baden Powell and I felt something burning in the back of my leg, knowing that I still had 10km to go and most of it being all uphill I was trying not to think about it. but I could tell that it was more than just tired legs.
A day later and some research online I'm almost 100% sure I have suffered a pulled hamstring. If it's not one thing its another, I feel like I was just getting over my hip flexer "injury", all this took was some stretching and some strengthening. now I'll be making another appointment with my physio to see what I can do about this injury. No one said running an ultra would be easy, I just hope that all these injuries eventually get better and I'm still able to run my first ultra in 11 weeks.

Training Update
It has been a tiring 2 1/2 weeks;
Training schedule to date:
Week 1
Cycle to and from work total 168 km
Run 265 minutes approximately 53 km as I am running a lot of steep trails it is hard to judge distance.
Week 2
Cycle to and from work total 84 km
Run 350 minutes approximately 70 km
My long runs right now are 90 min on Saturday and 3 hrs on Sunday and with the trails that I have been running, the Baddan Powell heading west towards Cypress Mountain, lots of elevation gain.
I am now on week 3 and will hopefully be getting into a rhythm of all this training because as of now, I am extremely tired and finding it hard for my body to adjust.
